Jovanović
Milica Jovanović is a versatile and passionate German musical theatre actress with Serbian roots who has performed leading roles throughout the German-speaking world. While primarily known for her work in musical theatre, she began her career in opera and operetta as a company member at the Gärtnerplatztheater in Munich.
Her notable stage credits include the leading role of “Ich” in Rebecca, Eleonore in the world premiere of Schikaneder, Fantine in Les Misérables, Eliza Doolittle in My Fair Lady, Christine Daaé in Love Never Dies, and Eva Perón in Evita.
She is currently performing as Carlotta Giudicelli in The Phantom of the Opera at the Vereinigte Bühnen Wien in Vienna.
In addition to her stage work, Milica regularly appears in concerts and musical galas and is also passionate about teaching and coaching singers and performers.
Milica graduated with honours from the Bayerische Theaterakademie August Everding in Munich and also studied at the Royal Academy of Music in London.
She is especially excited to be part of Stephen Schwartz’s concert with the WDR Funkhausorchester. Having portrayed Eleonore in the world premiere production of Schikaneder in Vienna, a role that remains one of the most meaningful and beloved experiences of her career, she feels deeply connected to his music and storytelling.
Born and raised in North Rhine-Westphalia, she is particularly happy to return to Cologne for this special concert.
Milica lives with her family in Austria.
