Enda
Markey

Born in Dublin, Enda Markey trained on a scholarship at Laine Theatre Arts in London, studying musical theatre. After completing his training, he worked extensively as a singer and actor in Ireland and the UK before relocating to Australia, where he established a successful career across television, theatre, concerts, and cabaret.

As a producer, Enda is the founder of Enda Markey Presents, with offices in Sydney and London. His productions include the Australian tour of Side By Side By Sondheim, culminating in a gala concert at Sydney's Theatre Royal starring Ruthie Henshall alongside more than twenty of Australia's leading theatre and television stars. He also produced the Helpmann Award-nominated production of Blood Brothers (Sydney and Melbourne), starring Helen Dallimore, Bobby Fox, Blake Bowden (Sydney), Josh Piterman (Melbourne), and Michael Cormick.

In 2016, he created Defying Gravity: The Songs of Stephen Schwartz (Theatre Royal, Sydney), featuring a stellar cast including Sutton Foster, Aaron Tveit, David Harris, Helen Dallimore, Joanna Ampil, and Betty Buckley. His work also includes Stephen Schwartz in Conversation with Leigh Sales (Theatre Royal, Sydney), Geraldine Turner in Turner's Turn (Australian tour), and the tour of Bobby Fox: The Irish Boy, which premiered at the Sydney Opera House. In 2019, he presented Ruthie Henshall – Live & Intimate, her first Australian tour, with sold-out performances at the Sydney Opera House and the Adelaide Cabaret Festival.

His critically acclaimed production of Becoming Eliza, starring Anna O'Byrne, premiered at the Sydney Opera House in 2022 and continues to tour nationally.

In 2024, Enda produced Rodgers & Hammerstein's Carousel in Concert at the historic Princess Theatre in Melbourne, earning three Green Room Award nominations.

His long-running international production of Boublil & Schönberg's Do You Hear The People Sing? has toured since 2013, with seasons in China, Taiwan, the Philippines, and Australia, including the Sydney Opera House. The Manila performances in 2014 and 2024 collectively raised nearly $1 million for charity. In July 2024, the concert made its Hollywood Bowl debut in a spectacular performance. The show has featured an extraordinary line-up of performers, including Michael Ball, Lea Salonga, Patrick Wilson, Skylar Astin, Jon Jon Briones, John Owen-Jones, Rachel Tucker, Bradley Jaden, Amy Manford, and Sooha Kim.

Upcoming projects include further international performances of Do You Hear The People Sing? and Defying Gravity.
